These settings affect import templates, account mapping, report labels, categories, groups, and exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before importing data, confirm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operator \/ Client Name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial System<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>COA Structure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Categories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Account mappings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Default reporting assumptions, if available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If settings are wrong, reports may show values in the wrong section or the import template may not match your source data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Download the import template<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After LOS Settings are correct, go to <strong>Import LOS Data<\/strong> and download the Excel template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The template is based on your current settings, including financial system and Chart of Accounts structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use a fresh template when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are importing for the first time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LOS Settings changed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The financial system changed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The COA structure changed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New fields or mappings were added<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the latest template helps reduce validation errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Prepare your import file<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the downloaded template and add your accounting or production data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before uploading, check that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Required columns are filled in<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dates are formatted correctly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Numeric values are in numeric columns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Properties, fields, wells, accounts, and AFEs are consistent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The file contains the correct reporting period<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The file was saved in a supported format<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep a copy of the source file for your records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4: Upload and validate data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the <strong>Import LOS Data<\/strong> page, upload your completed Excel or CSV file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upstream+ will preview and validate the file before importing. Review the preview carefully before continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Missing required fields<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorrect dates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Misaligned columns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unexpected blank values<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wrong sheet selection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial system mismatch warnings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manual field mapping prompts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not import the file until the preview looks correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5: Choose an import mode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before importing, choose how Upstream+ should handle data that may already exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Append missing rows only<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use this when you want to add new records without replacing existing matching records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is usually the safer option for routine imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overwrite matching rows<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use this when the uploaded file should replace existing matching records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use this carefully when correcting or refreshing previously imported data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: Review the LOS Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After importing, open the <strong>LOS Statement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the main report for reviewing Lease Operating Statement data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the LOS Statement to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review revenue and expense categories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compare results across properties or fields<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Switch between Activity and Accounting views<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review account-level detail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drill into supporting transaction rows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm imported data appears correctly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If something looks wrong, check the selected filters, date range, imported file, and LOS Settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 7: Review the Well Summary Report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the <strong>Well Summary Report<\/strong> to compare performance by well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report may support different modes, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cash mode for financial review<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volume mode for production or activity review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use this report to identify wells with unusual expenses, missing activity, low production, or significant changes over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 8: Review Budget vs Actual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use <strong>Budget vs Actual<\/strong> to compare estimated AFE amounts against actual costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This report helps you understand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Which AFEs are over or under budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which wells have the largest differences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How actual costs compare to estimates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which transactions support a summary amount<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the summary page for AFE-level review and the detail page for account-level investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 9: Use Transaction Drilldown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many reports allow you to click into a number to view supporting transaction detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transaction Drilldown can show information such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vendor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invoice number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Category<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amount<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Source job<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Source file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Original record link, if available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use drilldown before assuming a report number is wrong.
